Thomas Bertani (https://twitter.com/ThomasBertani) will be speaking about his project Fehu (www.fehulabs.com) which makes it possible to link payments on OpenBazaar with a proof of delivery. The talk will be 30 mins followed by a Q&A session.
A full description from the speaker follows below:
“We’ll start with an introduction about Bitcoin smart contracts, oracles and the Oraclize (www.oraclize.it) provably-honest oracle service. We’ll then move our focus to Fehu, an holistic solution powered by an Oraclize-based smart contract. Fehu acts as an automated escrow for e-commerce transactions. Every time you buy a physical good online, Fehu can play its role by linking payment to delivery in a new smart way. The only way this is possible is thanks to cryptocurrencies and smart contracts. There is no third party involved other than the code itself on which both the buyer and seller do agree. This means Fehu is a engine helping the two transacting parties to execute and implement their agreement in a way which does benefit both of them – risk of no performance is inherently limited. Fehu is integrated with OpenBazaar as well and in that context works just like any other moderator, the only difference being its non-human nature.”
Again, special thanks to OpenBazaar London (www.meetup.com/openbazaar/events/230220711/) for helping to scope an interesting speaker. Whether you’re new to the crypto scene or a veteran, Coinscrum’s Tuesday night social is an opportunity for like minded people to get together, chew the fat over a beer and plan the future of economic interaction. We welcome everyone, whether local to London or travelling through, to our new Members Bar on Brick Lane. Every now and then we’ll also drop in a special guest to kick start conversation from the soap box but we’ll always have a projector connected so anyone is welcome to take the mic and share thoughts or let everyone know about their latest project.
