Hello again scrummers!

After a roaring start to the new year from the sudden moves upwards for Bitcoin to the ETF announcements, we’re coming to the close of the first month in 2024.

With 2023 behind us and a bullish outlook for Q1 2024, we thought it was high time we shared some of our plans for the year. Starting with that sentiment in mind, here’s what’s in store for the Coinscrum organisation and community for Q1!

Moving regular meetups online

  • Since rebooting IRL events after covid it’s become harder to find spaces and to fund the monthly meetups. It’s has placed a bit of a strain on our resources and what we can do. We’re also missing out on some of the top speakers. Why? Since the pandemic less people are coming through London as regularly which reduces in-person speaker availability. To ensure we get speakers from the top projects we need to move online.
  • Taking things online will also allow us to creating space for deeper educational activities. Such as developer workshops, digital content, courses and lectures and educating the institutional side of the market.
  • Coinscrum has been known around the world as the UK’s premier Bitcoin and Web3 community, and this year we aim to take our experience and presence worldwide. A larger online presence will help us reconnect with our global audience and bring more opportunities to our community members to learn and network.

More socials please!

  • In person events are not disappearing. We believe it’s important to bring all the crypto communities. We’ll be doing this through cross-over social events with other local communities. Our goal is to run seasonal socials where we can all chat and share pizza’s and a drink.

Coinscrum courses

  • Dr Yathu Yoga from UCL has been working with the Coinscrum team to develop an exciting series of lectures for a project we call Coinscrum Courses
  • We’re exploring beyond the technical implementation to human, cultural & anthropological use of crypto. Learn more and enrol at https://coinscrum.com/courses

Podcasts coming

  • Own Your Mastery – Kicking off our new set of podcasts, the Sovereign Music Podcast will be a podcast focused on the ownership and self-sovereignty of independent musicians. Each episode explores the musicians journey, past and current releases, alongside how modern technology could improve their forwarding journey into the future. Music rights, decentralized sharing, owning masters, streaming, payments and royalties are all themes to be explored in this amazing new series.

Community contributors

  • At the end of last year we relaunched our community contributors program. If you have a knack for writing and expressing your ideas you’re invited to apply to be a contributor. We do have a strict ‘Coinscrum standard’ code. Please read through before applying. You can apply through the form at the bottom of the page. https://coinscrum.com/the-coinscrum-stardard
